LAHP FAQ

FAQS

Q: When do I pay for the session?
A: Payment is required at the time of booking and is non-refundable. If you provide a 24-hour notice, you can reschedule your session to a future date/time based on availability.

Q: How should I prepare for my shoot?
A: Please work on SIT & STAY with your animal companion(s). Reward their good work with lots of treats. Don’t worry if they don’t quite get it because we are prepared for that too!

Q: What if my pet is anxious in unfamiliar places?
A: If you have medications for your pet for this, please give it to them for the shoot. Our goal is to maintain a stress-free environment so we choose a location with minimal distractions, schedule our sessions to minimize contact with other dogs and we work with your animal companion. We will not make them do anything they do not want to do.

Q: What should I wear?
A: If you decide to be in the photos, solid bright/dark colored tops are best. Stay away from white/beige/muted/neon tones. Sneakers and shorts are not the best choice for portraits. Structured fabrics work better versus silky fabrics. Accessories like chunky jewelry, hats, glasses, & scarves are fun but not necessary. Ladies, please wear a little more makeup than you normally would.

Q: Do I need to bring accessories for my animal companion(s)?
A: If your pet is accustomed to wearing clothing or accessories (hats, goggles, bandanas, etc), then yes!  If they are not, no. I want to capture them in their natural element, whatever that is. If they have a favorite toy, pillow, bed, etc you are welcome to bring those if you would like to include them in the photos!

Q: Do I need to bring treats?
A: I will Mud Pie Oh My Training Bites , but feel free to bring their favorite treats/toys if you like, or, if they are on a special diet, bring something they are allowed to eat.

Q: Can I bring my dog even though he has bit one or more people?
A: No, not at this time.

Q: My dog isn’t a fan of other dogs. Will there be any other dogs there during my shoot?
A: No other dogs that signed up for mini-sessions will be in the area during your session. We will provide detailed instructions upon booking on where to park and who to contact when you arrive to limit crossing paths with other dogs when you arrive and leave for your session.

Q: I don’t have a dog. Can I bring my cat/bunny/bird?
A: Yes, absolutely. Please bring appropriate crates when transporting your animal companion.

Q: Does my animal companion need to be on a leash before, during and after my session?
A: Yes! Safety first! Not just for your animal companion but also for all others present.
