What is your approach to posing and providing direction at the wedding?

We switch between two roles: a director and an observer. During your newlywed portraits, we will guide you on the little things that make a big difference. After we place you in a beautiful setting, we’ll suggest where to look, how to stand, where to place your hands, and most importantly, let you get comfortable so you don’t look posed at all. In pivotal moments, we will step back to let the experience do the talking, with lenses that give you space while producing incredible framing and close-ups, without interfering.

What is your editing style?

True tones are the foundation. Blues will be blue; blacks will be black. While there is artistry and creativity in what we do, the colors should be honest. From there, we individually edit each photo with attention to the crop and skin tones. We also remove distractions from the main portraits. The outlet that was right behind your shoulder during the first look (despite the rest of the frame being ideal)? Consider it gone.

You’ve mentioned a “clean” photography style. Can you explain more?

Absolutely! While this often alludes to true colors and editorial styling, clean also means that we avoid photographing anything that might take your attention away or decrease the beauty of the image. After all, weddings are a production with light stands, equipment and other vendors in the mix. As we photograph your surroundings and your big moments, we will avoid clutter and create photos that don’t give away the magic.

Do you follow a shotlist?

Yes, we have a comprehensive list that we adjust based on the situation at hand. This gives us a starting point of items we plan on capturing while making room for creativity in the moment. It’s the family shotlist, however, that we follow more strictly. With a questionnaire, we’ll gather details from you or your planner and then custom-build a shotlist and matching timeline for you. This is a piece you’ll be able to review and confirm ahead of time, and it includes family names as well.

Do you work with the same second photographer?

Yes, we work with a dedicated second photographer to provide you with a cohesive experience and wedding gallery. Framing, styling, how we interact with you and your guests — our working rhythm flows seamlessly and is founded on experience and in-depth training. At the wedding, your primary and secondary photographer will be in the right place at the right time, a proven and practiced collaboration with minimal communication needed. 

What is your approach to working with other vendors?

Honestly, collaborating with the right team of vendors is one of the best parts. It’s incredible to see how, together, we can create a better experience not just for the couple, but for every single guest.
